Wood Preservation

Course Description:

When left untreated in many outdoor applications, wood becomes subject to degradation by a variety of natural causes. Topics to be covered in this course include: Wood Preservatives, Preservative Effectiveness, Effect of Species on Penetration, Preparation of Timber for Treatment, Application of Preservatives, Handling and Seasoning of Timber After Treatment, and Quality Assurance for Treated Wood.

• Know the effects of species on wood penetration
• Understand how to prepare wood for treatment
