Load Paths

Course Description:

The purpose of this course is to illustrate the concept of load paths and highlight important connections in a wind uplift load path when dealing with coastal construction.

Learning Objectives:

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

• Learn how loads should work properly to prevent building failure.
• Learn what is considered the "weak link" in a load path.
• Understand the consequences of a failed or missed connection in a load path.
• Know important components of a load path around a window opening.
