Course Description:

|
The purpose of this course is to discuss requirements and recommendations for enclosures and breakaway walls below the Base Flood Elevation (BFE).
|
|
Learning Objectives:
|
|
Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the long-term effects of the construction of enclosures below elevated residential buildings and post-construction conversion of enclosed space to habitable use in A zones and V zones.
- Understand what the space below the base flood elevation can be used for.
- Learn how an enclosure is formed.
- Learn the design requirements for breakaway walls.
