Electrical Design Lightning and Static Electricity Protection

Course Description:

Designed by the departments of the Army and the Air Force, this course provides information and criteria that will guide engineering design personnel in determining the adequacy of lightning and static electricity protection systems for all types of facilities.

Learning Objectives:

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

• Understand the conditions that must be considered for a static electricity charge to become a source of trouble.
• Learn the two types of dissipation arrays.
• Understand the limitations in use of lightning protection.
• Learn how to analyze suspected potential static electricity charges and decide what conductive paths will be available between them.
