This course discusses requirements to protect employees from the hazards associated with steel erection activities involved in the construction, alteration, or repair of single and multistory buildings, bridges, and other structures where steel erection occurs.

 

Learning Objectives:

 

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand what is considered a steel erection activity
  • Be able to recognize and understand diagram illustrations of bridging terminus points.
  • Understand the provisions for guardrail systems and their use.
  • Understand the differences between steel erections, steel joists, steel joist girders, steel trusses, and structural steel.
