Course Description:
|
|
The purpose of this course is to summarize National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) regulatory requirements concerning coastal construction and provide recommendations for exceeding those requirements in some instances.
|

Learning Objectives:
|
|
Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand general design requirements for new construction in A zones in Coastal areas.
- Understand the requirements for materials used for new construction in V zones in coastal areas.
- Learn what types of foundation are prohibited in V zones and A zones in new coastal construction.
- Learn the requirements for substantial improvements and repairs of substantial damage in V zones and A zones in coastal areas.
