Cathodic Protection Systems – Civil Work Structures
Course Description:
This course provides guidance for the selection, design, installation, operation and maintenance of cathodic protection systems (CPSs) for navigation lock gates and other civil works hydraulic structures.
Learning Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:
Understand what is included in a corrosion mitigation plan
Understand how to use cathodic protection to prevent or mitigate the cost of replacing a structure which may have been destroyed or weakened due to excessive corrosion.
Understand the difference between Sacrificial CPS and Impressed Current CPS
Learn what is included in a current requirement test to accurately assess the overall system design of existing structures.
