Course Description:

 

This course will provide you with an introduction to the techniques and methods applicable to design of concert halls and theatres for optimal acoustic characteristics and communications. This course will go over the acoustical considerations as well as the electronic systems.

 

Learning Objectives:

 

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Learn about the Preferred Noise Criteria (PNC) curves and how they are applied
  • Learn the importance of room reverberation time for different types of performance
  • Learn a simplified method of calculating a room’s reverberation time
  • Find out about electro-acoustic enhancement of room reverberation characteristics
  • Learn techniques of sound reinforcement
  • Learn about theatrical sound effects systems
